Description
Extreme Red Nectarine Sapling (Carmen rootstock) is a premium variety developed in Spain by Provedo-Caval through breeding programs in Don Benito (Badajoz) in 2001. It stands out with its exceptional taste, strong coloration, and commercial value. All our saplings are certified, true-to-type, and disease-free.
The tree has vigorous growth and provides regular fruit set with low thinning requirements, reducing labor costs. It allows harvesting in a few pickings, making it an economically efficient variety for growers.
The fruits have low acidity and high sugar content, delivering an intense sweet flavor. The flesh is very firm, crisp, and juicy, with a unique feature of being completely red, even inside the fruit. It is highly resistant to oxidation, meaning it does not brown easily after cutting, which is a major advantage for fresh markets.
Thanks to its slow ripening and strong fruit structure, it offers excellent storage capability. Suitable for both fresh consumption and commercial production.
This variety is self-fertile, requiring no pollinators.
Harvest time is around June 25, making it an early-season nectarine.
